Rising

Have you ever blogged while pumping?  I have to say it's a wonderfully efficient habit.  As I get ready for work this morning I am concurrently preparing for my husband to feed our little bug throughout the day, doing my makeup, and blogging.  This is one of my secrets: multi-tasking.  Do one or two things that require no thought while doing something else that occupies the mind.  Like driving and listening to podcasts or audiobooks.  Two other secrets: messy buns and meditation.  I'm sure I'll talk about both another day.

So here's the confession: The fight
Yesterday we had an argument.  I started it.  It was peaceably and amicably ended (also, by me, if we are being truthful, usually I can talk sense into myself if given the time and audience).  It, of course, was over who does more of the house work and who got more time to do their own thing.  I was ticking off chores I always do the dishes, and usually the laundry and when I get home from work I take over the kids...  Blah, blah, blah.  Same old story.

But, during this conversation I had an epiphany: the reason he has more time to do what he loves (BMX and training for BMX and BMX podcasting and anything else BMX) is because he takes it.  Even if the dishes aren't done and the laundry is half folded on the couch, he will go ride his bike.  I realized I need to let things go.  I need to be ok with taking time for myself because, and only because, I deserve to do things that bring me joy.
